Job summary

Charles River Development, part of State Street, is seeking an experienced API Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate secure enterprise APIs on Microsoft Azure. You will drive DevOps practices, IaC modules, automation, and scalable deployments while collaborating with application teams, security, and DevOps engineers to deliver reliable API solutions.

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in enterprise API management, RESTful and gRPC APIs, OpenAPI standards, and cloud-native

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of API engineering / cloud development experience.
• Azure certifications are preferred.
• Experience in financial services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, secure, deploy, and manage enterprise APIs on Azure.
• Maintain API gateways, service mesh, versioning, governance.
• Troubleshoot and optimize API performance and reliability.
• Develop API management policies: auth, rate limiting, caching, IP filtering.
• Integrate APIs with Azure Entra ID and other Azure services.
• Automate deployment and policy management with CI/CD and IaC.
• Monitor health, dashboards, alerts; support incidents and RCA.
• Collaborate with architects, security, and DevOps teams.

In this role, you will design, build, automate, and operate secure enterprise-scale Azure API management platforms. You will help modernize cloud delivery through DevOps practices, reusable IaC modules, automation, and strong operational engineering discipline.Why This Role Is Important to UsThe team you will be joining is part of Charles River Development (CRD), which became part of State Street in 2018. CRD develops enterprise investment management software solutions for leading global financial institutions across institutional investment, wealth management, and hedge funds.
