Job summary

Objective Partners in Chicago seeks a Software Engineer, Research to design and implement mission-critical infrastructure powering 24/7 global trading.

You will collaborate with quantitative researchers, build data pipelines, and integrate with exchanges and blockchain protocols while ensuring high reliability. This hybrid/onsite role offers exposure to both traditional finance and digital assets and requires strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional Python experience building maintainable systems.
• Practical understanding of major blockchain architectures and client configurations.
• Proven experience handling large evolving time-series datasets.
• Strong track record of taking requirements and driving projects to completion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal stakeholders.
• Self-motivated with ongoing drive to master new technologies.

Responsibilities

• System Architecture: Design, build, and maintain robust full-stack software and infrastructure for research and live trading.
• Data Engineering: Develop data pipelines for large time-series datasets.
• Integration: Build integrations with exchanges, data providers, and blockchain protocols.
• Research Support: Partner with researchers to accelerate the lifecycle from feature generation to production.
• Quality & Reliability: Ensure high availability with tests and documentation.
• Collaborative Innovation: Work in an agile team with on-call support for global operations.
