Responsibilities

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds to help build a transportation ecosystem that enhances safety, efficiency, and accessibility. We’re seeking a Software Engineer for Aurora’s Remote Assist team, responsible for:

• Solving challenging problems in autonomous driving, such as traffic management and construction navigation, to enable safe and timely vehicle operation.
• Supporting Aurora’s scaling efforts by enabling more efficient assistance for autonomous vehicles across broader geographic routes.
• Developing tools and workflows used by remote assist specialists to support autonomous vehicles and manage Aurora’s fleet.

In this role, you will

• Provide situational context for remote assist specialists to facilitate quick, accurate decisions.
• Create tools and workflows to guide vehicles through on-road challenges safely and effectively.
• Develop mission management and fleet intelligence software for efficient fleet operations.
• Design verification and validation plans to ensure system safety and effectiveness.
• Collaborate across teams including product, data science, UI/UX, platform, and test engineering to solve cross-functional problems.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering with strong C++ skills.
• Experience in robotics and/or autonomous vehicles.
• Interest in developing user-facing tools and workflows.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience with ML/AI applications.
• Background in human-robot interaction.
• Experience developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs).

The salary range is $139K - $223K annually, with additional bonuses, equity, and benefits, determined by role, level, and location.
