Qualifications

  • 1 year of software development with one or more programming languages.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and willingness to polygraph required.

Responsibilities

  • Own the life-cycle of Google Public Sector air-gapped services from inception to deployment and refinement.
  • Support services pre-live via design consulting, platform/framework development, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
  • Monitor availability, latency, and health to maintain live services.
  • Scale systems sustainably through automation and architectural improvements.
  • Conduct blameless postmortems and practice incident response.

Role Description

In this role, you will be a part of a major engineering-driven transformation for building and securing sovereign cloud platforms. You will ensure our systems deliver reliability and operate effectively within secure environments. You will use your experience running distributed systems to drive insights and new technology that improves the reliability, efficiency, and simplicity of the operational stack, working to eliminate systemic toil and enforcing long-term architectural excellence. You will shape the future of critical public sector services and solve problems at Google scale.

Responsibilities
  • Own the entire life-cycle of Google Public Sector air-gapped services from inception and design through to deployment, operation, and refinement.

  • Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
  • Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
  • Must possess an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance and the willingness to undergo a polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience working with algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and software design.
  • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.
Compensation
  • Salary: $147,000 - $210,000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
Additional Information
  • Must be a US Citizen to meet customer and compliance requirements, including potential access to classified information.
  • In most instances, this position requires in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
