As a Software Engineer (Python & React), you will join an established technical environment supporting client-facing applications across international shipping and e-commerce operations. This is a mid-level, full-stack engineering role with a strong operational focus, combining hands-on development with production support, troubleshooting, and ongoing systems maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
Application Support & Ticket Resolution
- Support client-facing systems and applications used within international shipping and e-commerce operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incoming tickets, bugs, and system issues.
- Independently investigate technical problems and identify practical solutions.
- Own assigned tickets and issues through resolution.
- Communicate progress, blockers, and technical issues clearly with the broader team.
- Proactively identify additional work and opportunities to contribute when ticket volume is low.
Full-Stack Development
- Build, maintain, and support functionality across backend and frontend systems.
- Develop and maintain backend functionality using Python.
- Work with React and Next.js to support client-facing applications.
- Translate requirements and technical issues into reliable software solutions.
- Build and ship production software while balancing speed, reliability, and maintainability.
Systems Maintenance & Reliability
- Maintain existing production systems and support reliable day-to-day operations.
- Debug production issues and identify underlying causes.
- Address recurring system problems and help reduce operational overhead.
- Identify opportunities to improve system reliability and maintainability.
- Quickly learn existing systems, workflows, and technical environments to become independently productive.
Cloud & Technical Environment
- Work within a Microsoft/Azure environment to support application and infrastructure requirements.
- Apply relevant cloud experience to troubleshoot and maintain production systems.
- Contribute effectively within the company's existing technical architecture.
- Apply AWS knowledge when relevant to existing or future systems.
AI-Assisted Development
- Use AI tools thoughtfully as part of everyday development and troubleshooting workflows.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and problem-solving.
- Evaluate AI-generated recommendations and code using sound engineering judgment.
- Use AI to accelerate development without compromising code quality or system reliability.
- Collaborate with the team to understand requirements, priorities, and technical issues.
- Work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision while maintaining visibility into progress.
- Ask thoughtful questions when working with unfamiliar systems or requirements.
- Take accountability for assigned work through completion.
- Communicate clear when additional information or support is required.
Qualifications
Experience
- 3-6 years of software engineering experience or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience working across full-stack applications in production environments.
- Experience building and shipping production software.
- Experience maintaining and supporting existing production systems.
- Experience independently troubleshooting bugs, tickets, and system issues.
Skills
- Demonstrates strong Python development skills and can build, maintain, and troubleshoot backend application functionality.
- Has hands-on experience working with Microsoft Azure and understands how to support applications within a cloud-based environment.
- Can independently debug production issues, investigate unfamiliar systems, and develop practical solutions with minimal supervision.
- Has experience maintaining existing software systems and understands the importance of reliability, maintainability, and reducing recurring technical issues.
- Can work effectively across frontend and backend systems and take technical work from investigation through implementation and resolution.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and can quickly learn unfamiliar technical environments, systems, and workflows.
- Can clearly communicate technical progress, blockers, and issues while maintaining ownership of assigned work.
- Is comfortable using AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully to improve engineering productivity and problem-solving.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with .NET and C# is considered a plus.
- Experience working with ERP systems is preferred.
- E-commerce experience involving order management, tracking, shipping, or related workflows is considered a strong advantage.
- Experience with Shopify is considered a strong bonus.
- Experience within third-party logistics, logistics, or shipping environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with international shipping, carriers, shipment tracking, customs, duties, or related systems is beneficial.
- AWS experience is considered valuable.
- Experience incorporating GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar AI tools into development workflows is preferred.
