Job summary

Zipliens is a leading lien resolution company building data-heavy systems at scale. We are hiring a Software Development Engineer to join our team, working across Python/Django backend and React frontend to deliver features that streamline the lien process for personal injury law firms.

You'll contribute from design through deployment, tackle production issues in AWS, and collaborate with product and operations to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software development experience in production.
• Experience with Python/Django (preferred) or a comparable framework (Node.js, Rails, Laravel).
• Proficiency in React.
• SQL and PostgreSQL experience, including large datasets.
• Hands-on AWS experience — EKS/EC2, RDS, S3, and SQS.
• Proficiency in at least one technical area and understanding of the applications your team owns.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take on unfamiliar work.
• Clear written and verbal communication; explain constraints to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain features across Python/Django backend and React frontend, ensuring clean, readable code.
• Develop and ship features from first commit through review, QA, and deployment with ownership expectations.
• Operate what you build: troubleshoot production issues, debug in AWS, and follow security practices for sensitive data.
• Build and maintain backend services and data-processing workflows over large datasets.
• Work with product and operations to translate acceptance criteria into usable features.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions with internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to architecture and scalability improvements under senior guidance.
• Participate in code reviews and act on feedback.
