Job summary

Quevera, located in Linthicum, Maryland, is seeking a Software Engineer - PySpark & Big Data to support mission-critical programs. The role requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph and will advance enterprise analytics, data ingestion, and automation for secure operations.

You will develop with Pig and PySpark, leveraging Python, Java, and Scala, in a collaborative team to deliver reliable data for mission-critical environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline required.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph required.
  • 7+ years of Software Engineering experience in similar scope projects.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (e.g., Sec+, CySA+, GIAC) required for applicable positions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute Pig and PySpark analytics for enterprise data processing.
  • Review data ingest tickets and collaborate to resolve data processing issues.
  • Review merge requests and contribute to code quality and best practices.
  • Deliver reliable, accurate data to end users supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot data ingestion issues to ensure data accuracy.
  • Support day-to-day analytics operations and enterprise data management.
  • Contribute to automation, continuous monitoring, and data collection across lifecycles.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable analytics solutions.

Salary Range: $129,485.00 To $152,744.00 Annually

Job Description:

Quevera is seeking a Software Engineer - PySpark & Big Data to support mission-critical programs in Linthicum, Maryland. This position requires an active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph and will support the Secure the Enterprise initiative by developing capabilities that modernize the system security evaluation and authorization process through automation, streamlined workflows, continuous monitoring, and enterprise data collection.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain enterprise analytics that support secure data processing and operational success. Working closely with a collaborative engineering team, you will leverage big data technologies to develop analytics, support data ingestion, troubleshoot data processing issues, and deliver reliable, accurate data that supports mission-critical operations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and execute Pig and PySpark analytics supporting enterprise data processing.
  • Review data ingest tickets and collaborate with team members to resolve data processing issues.
  • Review merge requests and contribute to code quality and development best practices.
  • Deliver reliable, accurate data to end users supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot data ingestion issues to ensure data accuracy and operational effectiveness.
  • Support day-to-day analytics operations and enterprise data management activities.
  • Contribute to the Secure the Enterprise initiative by supporting automation, continuous monitoring, and network data collection throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop scalable and reliable analytics solutions.
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph .
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience supporting projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • Seven (7) years of Software Engineering experience supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Strong background in analytics development.
  • Experience developing with Pig.
  • Experience developing with PySpark.
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (required for applicable positions), such as:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CompTIA CySA+
  • GIAC GSEC
  • GIAC GICSP
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with patch management and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) tracking.
  • Experience developing with Python.
  • Experience developing with Java.
  • Experience developing with Scala.
  • Experience with Apache NiFi.
  • Experience with Ansible.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
