Kaleido is seeking a Software Engineer (Platform Infrastructure) passionate about building cloud-native infrastructure and software systems that power large-scale, highly-available SaaS platforms.
Kaleido provides a next-generation platform for building and connecting to decentralized networks (e.g., Ethereum, Bitcoin, Canton) in the cloud and on Kubernetes. We combine OSS and proprietary technologies to offer middleware, digital asset management, and custody solutions. Our platform lets customers build enterprise use cases which integrate with decentralized ecosystems and digital assets — either hosted in our SaaS or deployed in their own clouds.
As a Software Engineer (Platform Infrastructure) you will:
- Maintain and expand our global fleet of Kubernetes clusters across multiple cloud providers supporting our development pipelines and SaaS infrastructure.
- Develop core microservices + Kubernetes operators that secure, manage, and scale customer workloads.
- Integrate advanced cloud networking and storage features for large-scale decentralized networks and high-volume, big-data transaction indexing.
- Improve CI workflows + CLI tools automating our software lifecycle for fast, reliable delivery.
- Build test suites, metrics, and alerts to keep systems healthy and customers satisfied.
- Continuously improve architecture for performance, reliability, and efficiency - guided by customer needs, compliance controls, and costs.
- Prototype agentic AI systems to help us further automate our software development and operations.
- Strong communication with team members, stakeholders, and customers.
- Ability to identify and address key engineering and architectural decisions.
- Flexible approach to work, including participation in on-call rotations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years working in cloud architecture on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and Linux in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with continuous testing and cloud-native monitoring.
- Experience creating cloud SaaS or internal PaaS solutions on Kubernetes or equivalent platforms - leveraging Infra-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Crossplane, and GitOps.
- Knowledge of virtual machines, software-defined networking (eBPF), and Linux filesystems and storage (LVM).
- Regularly uses Go/Python/TypeScript to automate operations and develop backend services.
- Growing AI fluency: comfortable using prompt-driven tools like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Copilot; excited to leverage LLMs/agents for automating workflows, tasks, and operations.
- Built alerts and dashboards with PromQL/LogQL in Grafana, Loki, and Prometheus.
- Skilled with modern build tools (npm, Maven, Gradle, make, uv) and efficient multi-stage Docker builds.
