Job summary

DiDi Autonomous Driving in the United States (San Jose area) seeks a Software Engineer / Senior Software Engineer, Planning Selection to contribute to our core planner engine for decision-making, trajectory generation, and evaluation for autonomous vehicles.

You will apply behavior planning, probabilistic methods, and machine learning to assess trajectory risk, score candidates, and help select safe, efficient paths, collaborating with Perception, Prediction, and Control teams.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in CS/Robotics/EE/Applied Math or related field.
• 2–5+ years of production-grade C++ in autonomous driving, robotics, or real-time systems.
• Strong understanding of behavior planning, decision-making, and trajectory generation.
• Solid probability, statistics, and machine learning fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving to decompose complex driving behaviors into executable algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ for trajectory generation and scoring.
• Apply probabilistic, statistical, and ML methods to assess trajectory risk and score candidates.
• Profile, optimize, and test online planning software for low-latency on embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with Perception, Prediction, Motion Control, and Safety teams to refine metrics.
