Job summary

DiDi is seeking a talented Software Engineer / Sr. Software Engineer, Planning Selection, to contribute to the core planner engine for decision-making, trajectory generation, and evaluation.

You will apply both traditional robotics planning and machine learning methods to build robust, efficient, and safe trajectories for our autonomous vehicles in dense urban environments. This role emphasizes collaboration with cross-functional teams and delivering scalable planning solutions.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years of software engineering experience in autonomous driving, robotics, or real-time systems.
• Strong understanding of behavior planning, decision-making, and trajectory generation algorithms.
• Solid understanding of probability, statistics, and machine learning fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain high-performance C++ software for trajectory generation and scoring.
• Apply probabilistic, statistical, and ML methods to assess trajectory risk and evaluate plans under uncertainty.
• Profile, optimize, and test online planning software for low-latency, memory-efficient execution on embedded platforms.
• Collaborate with Perception, Prediction, Motion Control, and Safety teams to refine evaluation metrics.
