Job summary

Amazon in United States (Seattle) is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to architect and build back-end services for seamless purchase orchestration and scalable e-commerce infrastructure.

You will own online service design, API development, and distributed systems powering complex purchase flows across external merchants and internal teams. This role emphasizes ownership, reliability, and rapid iteration within an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Deliver customer value in an iterative fashion while working towards longer term systems goals.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
