Job summary

Aalyria is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join the Spacetime engineering team. You will design, develop, and optimize core software for high-performance network resource allocation and scheduling, translating complex requirements into robust models and scalable solutions.

The role offers flexible hybrid remote/in-office work within the United States, with opportunities to contribute across multiple projects while advancing in a cutting-edge aerospace tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of production software development experience.
  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, design, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience building algorithmically complex, computationally intensive, or performance-sensitive software.
  • Proficiency in Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Java.

  • Translate complex product and network requirements into effective computational models.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineer to join our core Spacetime engineering team. We value engineers who are adaptable, proactive, and eager to tackle new challenges as we advance our technology. The ideal candidate will bring a solid technical background and a proven track record in solving complex engineering challenges. As a software engineer on the Spacetime team, you will play an integral role in developing and optimizing systems critical to our business, with the flexibility to contribute to and take ownership of various projects as both you and the company grow. You will be working alongside a team of seasoned engineers from top-tier tech companies, managing project priorities, timelines, and deliverables while designing, developing, testing, and maintaining core software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build high-performance optimization and scheduling systems for complex network-resource allocation problems.
  • Translate complex product and network requirements into effective computational models.
  • Improve solution quality, runtime, scalability, and explainability as problem complexity grows.
  • Evolve solver architecture to improve scalability, robustness, and reliability under increasing system complexity and load.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years experience designing and developing production software systems.
  • Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, software design, testing, and debugging.
  • Experience building algorithmically complex, computationally intensive, or performance-sensitive software.
  • Proficiency in Golang, C/C++, Rust, or Java.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with numerical optimization, mathematical programming, or solver development (e.g., LP/MIP/QP solvers, gradient-based methods, or metaheuristics).
  • Experience with performance profiling, numerical accuracy, and debugging complex computational systems.Experience with distributed or cloud-based compute systems.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications, networking, logistics, planning, or other adjacent domains.

The Pay Range For This Role Is

135,000 - 165,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))

160,000 - 185,000 USD per year (Remote (San Francisco, CA))
