Software Engineer (.net, Oracle, SQL, Web Methods)

Location: Beachwood, OH

Shift: 8am-5pm Monday - Friday (Hybrid - subject to change)

Summary Statement

Working with a diverse team, you will play an integral role in designing, developing, and supporting our business-critical applications, while mentoring associate engineers on software development best practices to deliver innovative solutions to our customers.

What You Will Be Doing

Participate in all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle by supporting existing efforts, troubleshooting issues, and developing new modules across multiple projects. Lead the design of certain components, suggest new products and features, and review systems with process owners. Mentor junior engineers and work with a diverse team.

Penske Responsibilities

• Lead support for multiple applications and their lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements.
• Develop, test, troubleshoot, and maintain applications.
• Design database schemas and produce maintainable code.
• Write tests, support CI/CD, and triage production issues.
• Review tasks, participate in interviews, and influence technology standards.
• Respond to user questions and support business needs.

Penske Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in CS or related experience.
• 5-7 years in Microsoft Development (.Net).
• 3-5 years in Java.
• 5-7 years in Oracle/MS SQL Server.
• Experience with DevOps, Web Methods, RT Locator WMS is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full stack experience: React, Angular, jQuery, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Spring, RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of design patterns, Agile, relational databases, troubleshooting, and project estimation.
• Willingness to travel, work schedule, and pass background checks required.

Physical Requirements

• Read, communicate, analyze, and understand instructions.
• Stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
• Visual acuity for various vision tasks.
