Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. has an immediate need for a Software Engineer in Brookfield, WI (onsite) to design, develop, and maintain backend services using C# and .NET Core. The role emphasizes API development, SQL data modeling, and Azure deployments, with a focus on CI/CD and production support.

In this contract role (06+ months), you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, participate in code reviews, and help drive engineering best practices in a cloud-based enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Must have skills: C#, .NET Core / ASP.NET Core, REST API Development & Backend Engineering, SQL Server / Database Development, Azure Cloud, CI/CD & DevOps, Software Design Principles & Testing, Debugging, Troubleshooting & Production Support
• Strong professional experience with C#, .NET Core, and backend software development.
• Experience developing and integrating REST APIs and distributed services.
• Solid understanding of SQL databases, data structures, and query optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services and application deployments.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar DevOps automation tools.
• Proficiency with Visual Studio and modern software development practices.
• Knowledge of software design principles, testing practices, and secure coding standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications and services using C# and .NET Core.
• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and scalable software components.
• Develop efficient database solutions using SQL, including query optimization and data modeling.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, including automated builds, testing, and deployments.

• Utilize Visual Studio and modern development tools to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvements.
