Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer to join a Government Consulting company supporting a federal cybersecurity initiative. This is a fully remote opportunity. The Software Engineer will contribute to the development of a large-scale cyber data visualization and analytics platform as part of a high-impact federal program.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend Python applications for enterprise-level cybersecurity solutions.
  • Collaborate within an Agile (SAFe) team to implement scalable and reliable data processing pipelines.
  • Develop and integrate ETL processes and APIs to support data ingestion and transformation.
  • Work with persistent data storage systems such as RDS and DynamoDB.
  • Utilize containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment.
  • Write unit tests and implement event-driven and scheduled features to ensure code reliability.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts and adapt to evolving cybersecurity requirements and technologies.

Experience:

  • 3+ years developing backend Python applications.
  • 5+ years building scalable, high-performance systems.
  • 2+ years implementing ETL pipelines and APIs.
  • 3+ years working with data storage solutions (e.g., RDS, DynamoDB).
  • 2+ years using container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • 5+ years using Git-based version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience writing unit tests and event-driven features.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years working in CI/CD environments.
  • 3+ years experience in Agile development teams.
  • 3+ years working with AWS cloud services.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
  • Experience with SQS, Kafka, and Kibana (visualizations and queries).
  • Background in cybersecurity tools, technologies, and mission support.
  • AWS Certification is a plus.

Compensation:

Salary Range: $120,000 - $ 140,000(depending on experience)

Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Sick leave as required by law, and Holidays

Location: Fully remote work environment in EST

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a US government DSH Public Trust security Clearance
