Job summary

Abbott in Plymouth, MN, SH Structural Heart division, is seeking an engineer to design, develop, verify, and maintain software for medical device products. You’ll work across the full software lifecycle with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, effective solutions in a quality-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline.
  • 0-2 years of related work experience.
  • Strong programming skills in object-oriented software development.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and software testing practices.
  • Experience with source control and version management tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and system components.
  • Participate in software verification and validation activities, including unit, integration, and system-level testing.
  • Develop, execute, and document software test procedures and test results.
  • Contribute to software quality initiatives including code reviews, defect resolution, and process improvements.
  • Support development and maintenance of automated test solutions and CI pipelines.
  • Participate in software requirements, design, risk management, and architecture reviews.
  • Assist in debugging software and system-level issues using appropriate tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure software solutions meet requirements.
  • Support software documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Follow Abbott quality system procedures and software development processes.
