Job summary

Google is seeking an Software Engineering Manager in Sunnyvale to lead a team that builds critical features for Spanner, a globally-replicated SQL-aware database. You will guide engineers across multiple sites, contribute to product strategy, and oversee deployment of large-scale projects.

You will mentor engineers, shape project goals, and ensure scalability, reliability, and availability across the Spanner ecosystem while collaborating with cross-functional partners and leaders.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team to build critical features and enhance their scalability, reliability, and availability. You will support and coach a group of engineers, lead projects with their impact across Google, and work on a broad range of technical areas.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
