For one of our ongoing projects, we are seeking Software Engineer - Mainframe. The position is based in Arizona but can currently be done remotely.

Major Responsibilities

• Developing and deploying complex integrated solutions to modernize, consolidate, and coordinate applications within and across enterprise core systems.
• Collaborating with software vendors on installation, problem resolution, and enhancements.
• Researching and evaluating solutions to recommend efficient and cost-effective options.
• Formulating system scope and objectives.
• Preparing detailed specifications, developing, testing, debugging, and documenting programs.
• Planning and implementing innovative solutions for complex problems and presenting technical concepts.
• Analyzing existing code or designing new solutions to integrate with vendor solutions.
• Coordinating the development of technical support standards.
• Working with operations staff to define, develop, and implement delivery systems, management policies, and security frameworks.
• Ensuring system availability and resolving production issues promptly.
• Solving complex application and data-related problems, ensuring data security and integrity.
• Applying knowledge of programming languages, utilities, and database structures.
• Developing and applying advanced technologies and concepts to resolve complex software issues.
• Leading and guiding other technical experts and participating in major projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (additional 4 years).
• 10+ years of mainframe programming/systems analysis experience, with skills in COBOL, CICS, DB2, and related databases.
• Experience with PEP+ system is preferred.
• 5+ years in Commercial Banking, preferably Transaction Banking.
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in high-pressure environments.
• Experience with SDLC, Project Management, ITIL, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in web technologies is a plus.
