Job Description

The Software Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing web-based software services for the airline, handling issues from minimally complex to highly complex, including referred issues from colleagues, depending on their level of expertise. Work may involve front-end or back-end development. Candidates should have a strong technical background in software creation, testing, reverse engineering, and programming tasks. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues on software issues. A continuous desire to learn new technologies and methods is also necessary, as technology constantly evolves.

Here’s What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain software solutions for the airline
• Write clean, functional code on the front-end and back-end
• Test and fix bugs or other issues
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to improve software
• Participate in designing software applications as part of a development team
• Conduct requirement analysis, document technical specifications, and review/debug code
• Recommend product revisions or enhancements based on user feedback
• Develop and maintain documentation or user manuals
• Achieve performance measures and adhere to established standards aligned with our client Aviation Group’s values of Safety, Kindness, Integrity, Ingenuity, and Excellence

Minimum Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience, including Boot Camp completion
• 2+ years relevant job experience or sufficient Boot Camp experience
• High performance orientation, ability to work under pressure, prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and be flexible
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Self-starter with a positive attitude and a strong desire for success
• Ability to complete projects on time with minimal supervision and work varied hours when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Post-graduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or professional certifications
• 4+ years of software development experience

Skills/Talents

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, Angular 2+ frameworks, PostgreSQL, and other tools used by the team
• Knowledge in software development and debugging
• Modern Angular experience is a bonus
