As a Software Engineer Lead within PNC's Finance Accounting Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
Responsibilities
- Creates and leads the technical design and development of software solutions.
- Proposes and designs software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Prepares technical and procedural documentation required.
- Facilitates complex problem resolution.
- Provides technical guidance and support to colleagues.
- Reviews coding, testing, and documentation of software.
- Applies modern principles, methodologies, and tools to advance business initiatives and capabilities.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for this role, including:
- 5+ years of development experience.
- Alignment of business strategy with software solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Active, independent pursuit of broader technology and business knowledge.
- Experience with modern software development principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Formal experience working in projects with a methodology (waterfall, agile).
- Banking and regulatory reporting experience (a plus).
Technical Must Have Skills
- Advanced design and programming skills in Informatica PowerCenter 9.6 & above and Oracle SQL/PLSQL.
- Proficiency in developing and debugging PL/SQL code.
- Experience developing SCD mappings with different source formats using necessary transformations.
- Performance tuning of targets, sources, mappings, sessions, and workflows.
- Design of HTTP transformations.
- Experience handling ETL code deployments using DevOps tools.
- Hands‑on knowledge with UNIX shell scripting and CA7 job scheduler.
- Intermediate level skills in data analysis and data modeling.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Alteryx.
- BI tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Oracle BI.
- Hands‑on knowledge using Teradata.
- Working knowledge of software design patterns and architecture.
- Leads complex problem solving and provides technical guidance to colleagues and solution development.
- Proposes, designs, and codes software solutions to address complex business needs.
- Oversees technical and procedural documentation as required.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, job‑specific certification(s), and experience (including military service).
