Position Overview
As a Software Engineer Lead in PNC’s Asset Management Group, you will work in Pittsburgh, PA, Dallas, TX, Birmingham, AL, or Cleveland, OH. In this role you will design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications using Angular, Java, Spring Boot, and microservices. The position requires a strong focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability of both front‑end and back‑end solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise applications.
- Develop and support RESTful APIs and distributed services, applying best practices for application design and integration.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers through code reviews, design discussions, troubleshooting support, and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, QA teams, and fellow engineers to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and delivery plans.
- Drive adoption of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile software development practices to improve code quality, team productivity, and release efficiency.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance while resolving complex production issues across front‑end, back‑end, and microservices environments.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, coding best practices, and quality guidelines while leading modernization efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of direct industry experience designing, developing, and delivering enterprise applications with Angular, Java, Spring Boot, and microservices.
- Strong experience with RESTful API development, CI/CD, automated testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- University degree in Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
- Preferred skills include Application Development, Business Management, Customer Solutions, Data Analysis, Data Reporting, Design, Group Problem Solving, IT Quality Assurance, Process Improvements, Project Management, Release Management, Software Solutions, and UX Design.
- Competencies in Application Delivery Process, Application Design, Architecture, Application Development Tools, Application Testing, Packaged Application Integration, System Development Life Cycle, and Technical Troubleshooting.
- No specific certification is required, but relevant certifications or licenses are desirable.
Pay Transparency
Base Salary: $86,250.00 – $158,125.00 (varies based on location, market data, and individual experience). This role is incentive eligible.
