About the Team: The Audio Video (AV) Tools & Tests team focuses on developing automation tools (HW/SW) to enable device audio/video quality characterization at scale for the diverse device ecosystem. Using our tools and test automation, both external partner developers and internal Netflix engineers can ensure every device delivers the best possible Netflix experience. The team works with 3rd‑party manufacturers to develop platforms that enable audio/video capture over HDMI, SDI, and SMPTE 2110, and also builds tools that measure playback performance. This team is involved with all core products at Netflix (Live, Streaming, Ads, Games…) and its products enable hundreds of millions of devices worldwide, including major smart TV and set‑top box manufacturers such as Samsung, Sony, Google, and Amazon.
We are looking for a strong generalist Software Engineer to drive innovation in the audio/video quality monitoring space and enable new engineering solutions for a wide spectrum of functions, ranging from initial device integration with Netflix to validating new TV user experiences. The role involves experimentation with new ideas alongside colleagues across gaming, audio/video technologies, and security domains.
Compensation structure: annual salary only; no bonuses. Salary range: $388,000.00 – $558,000.00. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family‑forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. Paid leave of absence programs are offered. Full‑time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick).
