We are hiring a Software Engineer - L3 Support to…

1. Work on Linux-based infrastructure and applications, covering layers from bare metal, virtualization (KVM), containerization (Docker/LXC/LXD), storage (Ceph, Linux filesystems), networking (OVS, OVN, Core networking), OpenStack, Kubernetes, and related open source applications.
2. Showcase engineering skills across the stack, addressing issues in Ubuntu and enterprise open source software.
3. Engage in troubleshooting, upstream bug fixes, and collaboration with community projects.
4. Maintain relationships with support, engineering teams, and upstream communities.
5. Develop bug fixes, backport patches, and contribute to upstream inclusion.
6. Review code, demonstrate good judgment, and manage priorities effectively.
7. Participate in team discussions to improve processes, tools, and documentation.
8. Communicate clearly and concisely in technical contexts.
9. Work remotely with potential international travel up to 10% for meetings and conferences.

Location: This is a remote role, with teams across all time zones.

Qualifications include:

• Exceptional academic record in Computer Science, STEM, or similar fields.
• Experience with Linux and open source software.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C, or C++ on Linux.
• Strong motivation to learn new technologies and troubleshoot complex issues.
• Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
