Job summary

Halogen Engineering Group is seeking a Software Engineer with back-end development experience in Jira/Java/Postgres. The role requires 20+ years of software engineering experience and TS/SCI w/Poly clearance, with partial telework options.

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD/Hybrid; travel not required. Salary is aligned with market range and internal factors, with comprehensive health and retirement benefits provided.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree with seventeen (17) years of software engineering experience
• OR a Bachelor's degree with twenty (20) years of software engineering experience in a Qualified Engineering Field (Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management) or a related discipline (Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics) from an accredited college or university
• OR a High School Diploma or GED with twenty-four (24) years of software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and enhance software solutions
• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Work on problems of diverse scopes where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence
• Experience with the following software development skills: Git
• Java, C++, and/or Python
• Relational database, such as Postgres
