Job summary

Motorola Solutions seeks a talented Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software powering critical communications for global customers. You will collaborate with product, QA, and other engineering teams to deliver features across Linux/Windows environments.

The role requires 3+ years in software development, proficiency in Java or Python or C#, and experience with cloud platforms. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are essential, with Agile experience a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with Linux or Windows operating systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and OO design.
• Familiarity with Git.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking, distributed systems, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus.

Job Description

Motorola Solutions is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of cutting‑edge software solutions that power critical communications and public safety for our global customers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high‑quality software applications and systems across various platforms.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (product management, QA, other engineering teams) to define, design, and ship new features.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, architectural design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and performance issues.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.
• Knowledge of networking protocols, distributed systems, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

Target Base Salary Range

Target Base Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in software development with strong experience in Java or Python, Google Cloud / AWS.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
• Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
