Job summary

System One, Inc. seeks experienced Software Engineers to develop, deploy, and maintain cloud-native Java applications in AWS GovCloud. The role covers DevSecOps, AI-assisted testing, and migration tasks across ECS, EKS, and OpenShift.

These contract positions demand strong Java/Spring Boot skills, hands-on cloud experience, and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance. The work is mostly remote, with local eligibility for the DC/MD/VA or MN area.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on Java development experience with Spring/Spring Boot.
• Experience building enterprise applications and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and cloud-hosted app support.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration platforms including ECS, EKS, OpenShift.
• Experience with cloud monitoring/logging tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and EFK.
• Knowledge of autoscaling technologies including Kubernetes HPA and AWS Auto Scaling.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines with integrated security testing.
• Experience using AI/LLM tools for automated test-script generation and AI-assisted testing workflows.
• Experience migrating containerized apps between cloud platforms, incl. registries, ingress, networking.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Software Engineer (Java / AWS GovCloud / DevSecOps)

We are seeking experienced Software Engineers at multiple levels to support the development, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical cloud-based applications. Candidates will work across the full software development lifecycle, supporting Java development, AWS GovCloud, DevSecOps, AI-driven test automation, and cloud platform migration initiatives.

Senior-level engineers will provide technical leadership and support complex engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications using Spring and Spring Boot.
• Develop and support cloud-native microservices and containerized applications.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications within AWS GovCloud environments.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines incorporating automated security testing and DevSecOps practices.
• Leverage AI/LLM technologies to generate, maintain, and improve automated test scripts.
• Support application migrations across AWS ECS, EKS, and OpenShift platforms.
• Monitor application performance, troubleshoot production issues, and support incident response.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers, cybersecurity teams, and testers to deliver secure, scalable applications.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience developing enterprise applications and microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud and cloud-hosted application support.
