Software Engineer IV (C++ / Python Programmer)

Location: Fort Meade, MD (On-site)

Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly

Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer IV (C++/Python Programmer) to support the MARFORCYBER (U.S. Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command) contract in Fort Meade, MD (on-site). This role supports critical cyber operations for the U.S. Marine Corps and Joint Forces, focused on developing and maintaining mission-driven software solutions. The Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) is responsible for conducting full-spectrum cyberspace operations, including operating and defending the Marine Corps Enterprise Network, executing defensive cyber operations, and supporting offensive cyber operations when directed. This role will contribute to supporting MARFORCYBER and its subordinate organizations by delivering advanced software capabilities, system integration, and mission‑critical engineering solutions to enhance cyber readiness and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using C++ and Python
• Support development of tools and capabilities for cyber operations and mission systems
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects
• Enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability
• Develop and maintain automation scripts
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and operational teams
• Participate in code reviews and ensure secure coding practices
• Support system integration, testing, and deployment
• Maintain technical documentation

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 8+ years of software development experience (Level IV equivalent)
• Strong proficiency in C++ and Python
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments
• Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting DoD or MARFORCYBER environments
• Familiarity with cyber operations or secure coding practices
• Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, protocols)
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Experience with system integration and automation
• Understanding of vulnerability mitigation or security engineering

Salary Range: $140,000 - $225,000
