We are looking for candidates local to San Jose as this is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days/week in the office.

Meet the Team

We are currently looking for talent to join our Intersight development team as part of Cisco's Data Center Compute portfolio.

Cisco Intersight is a cloud-based system management platform for Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) and other products, enabling IT organizations to analyze, simplify, and automate their environments. It leverages analytics and machine learning to provide actionable intelligence for IT operations/management. You will be part of the team extending and maintaining core messaging, persistence, and other shared back-end services powering the Intersight platform. We create the product infrastructure that the application teams build on.

Your co-workers will be a group of dedicated Go/Java server-side developers and cloud/web technology architects. We are a close team with decades of experience building infrastructure products and a reputation within the company for on-time delivery of quality products.

Your Impact

You will participate in the entire product lifecycle, from requirement analysis to architecture & design, to code implementation, to functional and performance testing, and to training and support. You will be encouraged to conduct research spikes to determine the feasibility of new technologies or alternative designs and mentor junior developers in good engineering practices.

A successful candidate will have solid technical and development experience, including cloud-native technologies. We value those driven by the challenge of solving complex technical problems, eager to learn new skills, and capable of bringing the team along with them.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years of experience
• 7+ years programming in languages like Go, Java, or C/C++
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable event-driven architectures and data pipelines using Kafka, along with experience in SaaS enterprise software or cloud-based infrastructure, and exposure to service-oriented architectures

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of experience
• Experience designing and implementing highly scalable and available software systems
• Strong analytical/debugging skills and knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms
• Experience working in distributed teams across multiple time zones and familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, etc.)
• Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
