Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation’s Pierce Manufacturing unit seeks a Software Engineer Intern to assist the Software Engineering team. You’ll design, test, and maintain vehicle control software for trucks and pumpers, and help with configuration programming for vehicle systems.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a CS or software engineering degree, with strong fundamentals in C/C++, embedded systems, and CAN/J1939. The role offers an hourly wage and a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong academic record, GPA 3.0.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of various degrees of information.

Responsibilities

• Write quality, maintainable, object-oriented C++ software.
• Develop and maintain PC programs used for the configuration of truck specific programming.
• Identify and control vehicle operation and maintenance risks.
• Prepare and maintain the software documentation necessary to support the configuration of truck specific programming.
• Test truck specific programming to ensure the programming operates as specified.
• Participate in peer reviews and other engineering activities.
