Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the U.S. headquarters near the Greater Kansas City area is seeking a Software Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. You will learn and contribute to software for Garmin's navigation products within a team environment under supervision.

You will gain hands-on experience in C/C++ or Java, test with debuggers and simulators, participate in software releases and QA, and support maintenance of production software while learning Garmin’s development practices.

Qualifications

• Pursuing degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
• GPA ≥ 3.0 desired as a general rule.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience or training in C, C++, C# or Java relevant to Garmin’s business needs.
• Experience or training in data structures or object-oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Learn to develop software in C, C++, or other selected languages for Garmin's navigation products.
• Learn to test software using debuggers, emulators, simulators, and logic analyzers.
• Learn to perform software releases and software quality assurance activities.
• Learn to perform maintenance for products in production and new product software design.
• Integrate, use, and provide feedback on products in development when possible.
