Job summary

The Hartford is offering a Tech & Data Program Summer 2027 – Software Engineer Intern position in Hartford, CT. You will design, build, test, and enhance applications while working with Agile teams and modern development practices.

Open to undergraduate or graduate students graduating May 2028 in STEM fields, this hybrid internship provides mentorship, hands-on software experience, and exposure to cloud platforms, AI, and analytics within the insurance industry.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed degree in CS/SE/IT or related STEM field.
• Solid programming foundation in Java, Python, or JavaScript.
• Experience with SQL and web development basics is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud and DevOps concepts is welcomed.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and services.
• Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile environment.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including coding, debugging, testing, deployment, and reviews.
• Leverage cloud technologies and AI tools to build scalable solutions.
• Present outcomes to stakeholders and continuously learn.
