Job summary

Astranis is seeking a Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to help ingest, store, and query telemetry data from our satellite fleet in real time. You will design data pipelines and monitoring rules to detect anomalies and provide mission operators with visibility to keep satellites healthy.

You will work at the intersection of data engineering and space operations, contributing across the data platform by building APIs, client libraries, and pipelines while collaborating with mission

Qualifications

• Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience with databases (Postgres, time-series DBs).
• Experience with API design (REST, gRPC, Protocol Buffers).

Responsibilities

• Design and build monitoring rules and anomaly detection for telemetry data platform.
• Contribute across the data platform by building out client libraries, data pipelines, query interfaces, and APIs.
• Collaborate with mission operations and engineering teams to define monitoring requirements and data needs.
