Job summary

OnePay is seeking an engineering intern to join our fast-paced team in New York City. You will work alongside Platform, Product, and other engineers on real-world projects, culminating in a final presentation to the team and peers.

You will participate in workshops focused on technical skills, resume building, interview preparation, and professional development, while receiving mentorship from your manager and a dedicated mentor to guide your growth throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Current undergraduate student expected to graduate Fall 2027 / Spring 2028 in Engineering or related field.
• Have completed at least one software engineering internship or built substantial projects.
• Available for full-time 8-week program June 21 – August 13, 2027 and able to work in NYC office 3–4 days/week.

THE ROLE

• Team Integration: As an intern, you’ll be an essential part of our engineering team, working alongside skilled professionals on cutting-edge projects. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Platform, Product, and more, gaining exposure to the broader business.
• Real-World Projects: You’ll take on a variety of projects that align with your skills and interests, contributing to key engineering initiatives. By the end of the program, you’ll showcase your work through a final presentation to your team and peers.
• Skill Building & Career Growth: Throughout the internship, you’ll attend workshops focused on technical skills, resume building, interview prep, and professional development. You’ll also have the chance to engage with company leadership during networking events.
• Mentorship: Receive guidance and feedback from your manager, as well as a dedicated mentor who will help you navigate your internship experience, ensuring continuous learning and growth.

YOU BRING

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree: You’re a current undergraduate student expected to graduate in the Fall of 2027/Spring of 2028 majoring in Engineering or a related field.
• Prior Experience: You've completed at least one previous software engineering internship, or have built substantial personal or academic projects you're excited to talk through.
• Availability: This is a full-time, 8-week program running June 21 - August 13, 2027. You are available to work in our New York City office at least 3-4 days a week throughout.
• Proactive & Collaborative Attitude: You have an act-like-an-owner mentality, thrive in a fast-moving environment, and enjoy working with others to achieve collective goals.
• Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Skills: You enjoy tackling complex challenges, analyzing problems, and developing solutions. Clear communication of ideas is one of your strengths.

TOOLS WE USE

We use Typescript front to back, with node and NestJS frameworks for server code and React Native for our iOS, Android, and Web clients. We run on a highly distributed cloud-native stack with Kubernetes and AWS, and scale and resiliency are at the heart of everything we build. We also embrace agentic development, so engineers have their choice of a variety of models and agent harnesses, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, and more to fit their workflow. While you don't need experience with our exact stack, familiarity with modern software engineering practices will help you ramp up quickly.

PROGRAM & APPLICATION TIMELINE

• Program runs June 21 - August 13, 2027 (8 weeks, full-time, in our NYC office)
• We review applications and conduct interviews on a rolling basis as they come in
• No offer decisions will be made until the application window closes – all candidates are evaluated together before final decisions go out
• We are targeting a finalized cohort by December 1, 2026
• If there are intern spots still available, we may reopen applications in Spring 2027
