Job summary

Valeo invites you to join as a Software Engineer Intern in Troy, MI, to contribute to Software-Defined Vehicles. You will design C++ middleware, APIs, and OS components, and work across embedded/Linux platforms to build AI-enabled in-cabin experiences.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or related field.
• Interest in Software-Defined Vehicles and automotive software is a plus.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment and collaborate with mentors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust C++ middleware, APIs, and OS components for Software-Defined Vehicles.
• Develop and test software using C/C++ and Python on embedded and Linux-based platforms.
• Contribute to backend services and programmable interfaces powering AI-enhanced user experiences.
• Analyze system logs, reproduce technical issues, and troubleshoot connectivity and performance.
• Assist with hardware-software integration and apply automotive safety standards (ISO 26262).
• Support AI-driven automation in CI/CD workflows and modern SDLC practices.
