Job summary

ModMed invites interns to join a hands-on Software Engineering program in Boca Raton, FL. You will work across Java, Angular, and backend/mobile initiatives within an AI-enabled, cloud-based platform.

You'll be mentored by experts, tackle real-world problems, and gain hands-on experience in AWS, microservices, and streaming technologies, with relocation considerations after graduation.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in Computer Science or related field, or pursuing Masters/PhD in CS/AI.
• GPA 3.5+ and strong knowledge of Java, MySQL, Angular.
• Experience with microservices, streaming platforms (Kafka), containerization, caching, and AWS.
• Interest in AI Forward Deployment and tooling like Claude, Codex, Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Tackle complex challenges across frontend, backend, and mobile domains.
• Contribute to engineering projects, supporting end-to-end development.
• Witness code deployed and used by internal and external customers.

If you're considering joining ModMed's Summer 2027 Internship Program, you might be an ideal candidate if you meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: You are currently enrolled in a Computer Science program (or a related field) or pursuing your Masters of PhD in Computer Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
• Availability: Ability to work at our headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida, on a hybrid basis during the internship and willingness to commit to relocation post graduation to work out of our headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida.
• Academic Excellence: You maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and experience with Microservices, Java, MySQL and Angular. Strong preference for candidates with experience in streaming platform experience (e.g. Kafka), containerization, caching, Web sockets, and AWS.
• Passion for AI Development Lifecycle: You're a champion of AI Forward Deployment and have experience with Claude, Codex, Cursor or similar AI development tools.
• Curiosity and Problem‑Solving Skills: You approach challenges with curiosity and are skilled at finding solutions.
• Self‑Motivated: You're a self‑starter, results‑oriented, and thrive in a collaborative work environment.
• Effective Communication: You have strong communication skills, enabling you to collaborate effectively with your peers.
• Adaptability: You excel in dynamic, fast‑paced environments and can adapt to changing circumstances.
