Summary:

Anaconda is seeking a talented Software Engineer, Installers to join our rapidly growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.

What You’ll Do:

• Work with open-source software projects, building installers and conda ecosystem on the Anaconda Distribution team
• Attend daily Agile meetings, demos, etc.
• Be a subject matter expert for product and engineering teams and company leadership
• Identify repetitive manual tasks and find solutions to automate them

What You Need:

• 5+ years of software development experience with Python expertise
• Ability to analyze complex source code to build and test distribution formats
• Experience with Git and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab)
• Proficiency in testing frameworks (pytest, unittest)
• Strong knowledge of Windows and other operating systems
• Cross-team collaboration skills for designing pragmatic solutions
• Ability to contribute fixes to upstream projects in various languages
• Experience with project management tools (Jira, GitHub Issues)
• Demonstrated mentorship and team coordination abilities
• Strong communication and knowledge-sharing mindset
• Drive to improve workflows and solve complex problems

What Will Make You Stand Out:

• Proficiency in scripting languages like bash, Windows batch files, or PowerShell
• Experience with different operating systems: Windows, macOS, Linux
• Experience with multi-user environments, such as HPC systems or Windows domains
• Have open source experience through contributions to at least one big project or by having maintained open source software projects
• Understanding of build environments and operating systems
• Familiarity with PyInstaller, Nuitka, and related tools
• Packaging software (conda, Homebrew, chocolatey, RPM/APT, WinGet, Flatpak, Snapcraft)
• Knowledge of good security practices on different operating systems and platforms and experience with supply chain security
• Experience working in an open-source, AI, or data science-oriented company

The US base salary range for this role is $115,500-$199,750 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed in each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations.

Within the range, individual compensation is determined by various factors, including work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter will provide more specific details on the salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
