Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using existing frameworks.
  • Define acceptance tests for new software features.
  • Build supporting tools such as mocks, test harnesses, and utilities under guidance from senior engineers.
  • Automate manual testing tasks to improve efficiency.
  • Perform manual (black box) and exploratory testing.
  • Create and execute integration tests based on design specifications.
  • Investigate, document, and track software defects.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to estimation and planning of testing efforts.
  • Work closely with software engineers, architects, and project managers.
  • Create and maintain test documentation aligned with quality standards.

About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineer Test I (Contractor) to join our Software Quality Assurance team for a 6-month engagement beginning September 28, 2026.

This is an ideal opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands‑on experience in software testing, automation, and agile development within a highly regulated MedTech environment.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers to build and execute automated tests, validate software performance, and contribute to the quality of products used by healthcare professionals worldwide.

This is not a passive role—you’ll actively contribute to real product releases and DevOps pipelines.

What You’ll Do
Test Automation & Development
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts using existing frameworks
  • Define acceptance tests for new software features
  • Build supporting tools such as mocks, test harnesses, and utilities under guidance from senior engineers

Software Testing & Validation
  • Perform manual (black box) and exploratory testing
  • Create and execute integration tests based on design specifications
  • Investigate, document, and track software defects
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and retrospectives
  • Contribute to estimation and planning of testing efforts
  • Work closely with software engineers, architects, and project managers
Documentation & Quality
  • Create and maintain test documentation aligned with quality standards
  • Support test plans for formal software releases
  • Maintain and update automated test suites for regression testing
Reporting & Support
  • Help track software quality metrics (e.g., defect trends, test coverage)
  • Communicate issues clearly to team members and leadership
  • Support broader team initiatives as needed
