Job summary

Recurring Decimal is seeking a QA Automation Engineer / SDET with deep financial domain expertise to support an enterprise Capital Markets technology team.

In this role you will bridge software development and quality engineering for post-trade back office and trade flow applications. The ideal candidate possesses strong Python coding skills to automate back-office and trade flow environments and has direct experience with Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Swaps trading.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in app development or test automation with Python.
• Hands-on Python coding to automate post-trade back-office and trade flows.
• Strong Fixed Income and Derivatives domain knowledge; swaps experience.
• Experience with Tradeweb and Bloomberg trade systems.
• 2+ years developing test automation scripts for Fixed Income data lineage.
• Ability to analyze complex data flows across multiple apps.

Responsibilities

• Expand existing test automation frameworks and build new automation scenarios for backend systems, frontends, and web service APIs.
• Input trade deals, validate deal tickets, and ensure seamless execution across front-to-back office systems.
• Analyze complex business requirements to plan tests and map scenarios within Xray; convert manual scripts to automated ones.
• Write complex SQL queries to validate data flows and data lineage across apps.
• Manage code pulls, peer reviews, and drive CI/CD pipeline implementations for automated testing and reporting.

About the Role

In this position, you will bridge the gap between software development and quality engineering for enterprise post-trade back office and trade flow applications. The ideal candidate possesses good functional and technical expertise in building automation frameworks , combined with advanced data lineage verification and a strong operational understanding of trade systems Fixed Income, Derivatives, and Swaps trading environments.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• Years of Experience: 5–7 years of professional experience in application development or test automation framework development with Python.
• Core Programming: Strong hands-on coding experience in Python to automate post-trade back-office and trade flow environments.
• Domain & Swaps Expertise: Strong domain knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives back-office processing, with specific, hands-on experience in the Swaps trading space.
• Trading Systems: Direct, professional experience working with and verifying workflows on major trading platforms, specifically Tradeweb and Bloomberg trade systems.
• Data Lineage: 2+ years of direct experience developing test automation scripts specifically tailored for Fixed Income Capital Markets data lineage.
• Analytical Mindset: Demonstrated ability to comprehend complex data flows spanning multiple internal and external applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Automation Engineering: Expand existing test automation frameworks and programmatically build new automation scenarios for backend systems, frontends, and web service APIs.
• Trade Integration & Validation: Leverage hands-on experience with trading workflows to input trade deals, validate deal tickets, and ensure seamless execution across front-to-back office systems.
• Test Planning & Execution: Analyze complex business requirements to perform comprehensive impact assessments. Map out test plans and scenarios within Xray, and systematically convert manual scenarios into automated scripts.
• Data Verification: Write complex SQL queries to validate deep data flows, datasets, and data lineage across interconnected internal and external applications.
• CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Manage code pulls, conduct peer code reviews, and drive future CI/CD pipeline implementations for continuous testing and automated reporting.
