Job summary

JP Morgan Chase is seeking a Software Engineer III within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payment Platform team in Chicago. You will contribute as a seasoned agile team member responsible for designing and delivering trusted, secure, scalable technology solutions across multiple business functions.

Responsibilities include writing secure code in Java-based environments, building and testing with TDD, and collaborating across upstream/downstream systems while applying SDLC best practices.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages (Core Java, Spring Boot, RESTful API).
• Understanding of Java design patterns and SDLC.
• Experience writing tests with JUnit.
• Experience with Git/Bitbucket and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Understanding of agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency).

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages - Core Java, Spring Boot, RESTFUL API
• Understanding of Java Design patterns and experience on implementing it in application development.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Experience writing test cases using testing tools like JUnit.
• Experience using code versioning tools, such as Git, Bitbucket
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD).
• Understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Exposer to AI - using python, AI, Copilot in VScode/Intellij
