Job summary

Google’s Distributed Cloud Host Network Functions team seeks engineers to advance host networking and offload features for AI, retail, telecom, and enterprise workloads on the GDC platform.

You’ll work on scalable systems, contribute to Kubernetes networking experiences, and help deliver enterprise-grade solutions across a global footprint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in C, C++, or Go.
• 2 years of experience with large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, networks, compute/storage or hardware.
• Experience with SDN controllers, network virtualization, and VNF, plus Kubernetes networking (CNI/ebpf).
• Master's or PhD preferred; low-level systems software, Linux kernel, networking stack, crypto APIs helpful.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in or lead design reviews to decide among technologies.
• Review code and provide feedback on style, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
• Contribute to documentation and update content based on product changes.
• Triage issues and debug/resolve impacts on hardware, network, or service quality.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in one or more of the following programming languages: C, C++, Go.
• 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
• Experience with SDN controllers, network virtualization, and network function virtualization, as well as with Kubernetes networking, including CNI and ebpf technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience with development of low-level systems software, Linux Kernel, networking stack, crypto APIs etc.
