Job summary

Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. in Springfield, MO, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the iSeries Deposit team.

You will work in an agile environment to design, develop, test, and deliver software solutions for ACH, Wires, and other deposit functions, collaborating across engineering, QA, and support. The role emphasizes hands-on coding with RPG, SQL, and DB2, along with deployment, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional programming experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with RPG, SQL, and DB2.
• Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering, or computer science preferred.
• Experience Agile development methodologies is a plus.
• Familiarity with SOA architecture and XML is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Completes product technical design and prototyping, software development, bug verification and resolution.
• Performs system analysis and programming activities which may require extensive research and analysis.
• Provides technical/engineering support for new and existing applications from code delivery until retirement.
• Provides both individual and budget-level tasks and product effort estimates/costs.
• Ensures timely, effective, and quality delivery of software into production, both at an individual and team level.
• Develops and tests applications based on business requirements and industry best practices.
• Creates required technical documentation.
• Adheres to documented departmental and corporate standards. Participates in the definition and documentation of standards.
• Collaboratively works with QA team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Collaboratively works with customer support team to resolve or diagnose defects.
• Performs release validation testing and beta support for projects.
• Researches problems and develops solutions to the problems.
• Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
• Assists in training and mentoring less experienced peers.
• May contribute to product architecture.
• May assist less experienced peers.
• May perform other job duties as assigned.

Jack Henry's Deposit Development team is seeking to hire a motivated individual to work within the iSeries Deposit team as a Senior Software Engineer. Candidates for this position will be responsible to work in an agile development process to ensure complete and accurate software solutions. This includes working collaboratively within the Deposit development team to help research and create software requirements, test, and promote solutions as a self-organizing and cross-functional team. Software solutions for this team include, but are not limited to, ACH, Wires, Analysis, Sweeps and other general Deposit and Time Deposit functions.

What you'll need to have:
