Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III in Security/Privacy for Google Cloud Security and Privacy, located in Kirkland/Seattle, WA. You will design, implement, and optimize security-focused software, mentoring peers and driving privacy-centric solutions.

In-person interviews are typical for this role, with a competitive compensation package. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in C++, Java or Go, plus experience in data privacy or security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience programming in C++, Java or Go.
• 2 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
• Preferred: Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
• Preferred: experience with performance, large-scale data analysis, or debugging.

Responsibilities

• Write product or system development code.
• Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
• Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
• Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
• Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
