Job summary

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend development, database development, ETL, and data integration.
• Strong experience with Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, packages, performance tuning, and query optimization.
• Experience with ETL tools Informatica or DataStage and batch/near-real-time data integrations.
• Experience with Unix/Linux scripting and automation; knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements.
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components and solution enablers while maintaining architecture integrity.
• Mentors other software engineers and coaches CI/CD practices and tooling automation.
• Executes requirement refinement, estimates work, and delivers stories through the lifecycle.
• Automates manual release activities and designs automated test suites (integration, regression, performance).
• Develops and supports Oracle database components and ETL processes with SQL/PLSQL; optimizes performance.
• Develops backend data services and interfaces for end-to-end application functionality.

Position Summary:

Business Finance Technology (BFO Tech) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to design, develop, modernize, and support database‑driven applications, Oracle database components, ETL processes, and data integrations that enable enterprise financial management, reporting, and business operations. This is a hands‑on engineering role primarily focused on Oracle Exadata, SQL, PL/SQL, database development, ETL, data processing, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities:

• Codes solutions and unit test to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements
• Designs, develops, and modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained
• Mentors other software engineers and coach team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI‑CD) practices and automating tool stack
• Executes story refinement, definition of requirements, and estimating work necessary to realize a story through the delivery lifecycle
• Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas
• Automates manual release activities
• Designs, develops, and maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance)
• Designs, develops, and supports Oracle database components, tables, views, stored procedures, packages, ETL processes, and data integrations using SQL, PL/SQL, and enterprise ETL tools such as Informatica or DataStage
• Analyzes complex database, data, and application issues; performs SQL and database performance tuning; identifies root causes; and implements reliable solutions
• Develops and integrates backend data services and interfaces to support end‑to‑end application functionality

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on backend development, database development, ETL, and data integration
• Strong experience with Oracle Exadata, Oracle Database, SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures, packages, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting ETL processes using Informatica and/or DataStage
• Experience designing and supporting batch and near‑real‑time data integrations and processing workflows
• Experience with data modeling, data quality controls, reconciliation, and troubleshooting complex data issues
• Experience with Unix/Linux shell scripting and automation
• Experience with enterprise workload scheduling tools such as AutoSys or comparable technologies
• Experience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and application deployment practices

Desired Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of APIs and front‑end technologies such as Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience developing distributed data‑processing solutions using Python, PySpark, Apache Spark, or Hadoop
• Experience with cloud‑based data storage and processing technologies, including Amazon S3 or comparable platforms
• Familiarity with modern workflow‑orchestration technologies such as Airflow
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, application security, and technology‑risk practices
