Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with C++ and Java.
  • Experience in information retrieval, search infrastructure, ranking systems, data quality, or signal extraction for content evaluation.
  • Experience with large-scale data analysis, building data pipelines (Flume), and applying statistical methods to solve problems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain highly scalable software systems and backend infrastructure designed to operate on top of Large Language Models for information retrieval.
  • Design, implement, and continuously iterate on systems to retrieve high-value, rights-protected content; define quality signals, extracting data, and building evaluation models.
  • Partner closely with engineers, product managers, and research teams across Google to integrate premium knowledge into high-visibility Generative AI surfaces.
  • Grow in a changing, rapidly growing environment, establishing clear technical directions and delivering results from the ground up for a new organizational effort.
  • Uphold standards for code quality, system reliability, engineering best practices, and comprehensive technical documentation.
