Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and quality-engineer software solutions for a new platform. The role involves rapid learning of new tools and domains (data science, psychometrics) and ownership of functionality from discovery through delivery.

You will develop a new web app stack, refine LLM-codegen processes, and work with AWS cloud-based solutions while ensuring best practices in performance, security, and verifiability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in technology discipline.
• 3–5 years full-stack software development experience.
• Experience with development, maintenance, and testing of software following industry best practices.
• Experience with highly available, highly concurrent cloud-based Web applications.
• Background in statistics is a plus.
• AWS hosted applications experience.
• R and R data science libraries experience.
• GitHub and GitHub-driven CI/CD experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support a new web application stack.
• Leverage LLM-codegen processes to balance agility and quality.
• Develop and leverage agent-driven AI architectures.
• Work closely with customers and adapt tools to their needs.
• Develop psychometrics and data science-focused tools in R.
• Operate, extend and create cloud-based solutions in AWS.
• Develop and maintain code for maintainability, performance, security, and verifiability.
• Learn new processes, tools, and business domains quickly.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to deliver timely, robust software.
