A leading tech client is looking for a motivated Software Engineer III to help build the next generation of developer infrastructure. In this remote 6-month contract role, you will own and maintain Bazel build systems, collaborate with teams to improve workflows, and develop tools for large-scale codebases. Candidates should have experience with the Bazel system and be fluent in Java, Python, Starlark, and TypeScript. Onward Search is partnering with a leading tech client to hire a Software Engineer III to help build the next generation of developer infrastructure and tooling. If you’re passionate about making developer workflows faster, smarter, and more scalable, this is the role for you!

Location: 100% Remote (EST & CST Preferred)

Contract Duration: 6 months

What You’ll Do:

• Own and maintain Bazel build systems and related tooling
• Scale monorepos to millions of lines of code
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to define best-in-class developer workflows

What You’ll Need:
