Job summary

PDI Technologies in Texas seeks an experienced software engineer to diagnose, troubleshoot, and develop our enterprise applications within an agile team.

You will leverage .NET/C#, optimize SQL performance, and use AI-assisted tools like Claude Code to improve developer productivity. The role requires 5-9 years of experience and strong communication. Hybrid work arrangements are offered and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of experience designing and developing software in a product environment.
• Proficiency in .NET and C#.
• SQL performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Visual Studio IDE and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with AI-assisted software development tools (Claude Code or similar).
• 1+ year as a technical team lead preferred.
• 2+ years of Agile development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• US work authorization without sponsorship.

You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining our market-leading software products as we strive for continuous improvement. You will be working as a key part of an agile team to identify software issues and optimize the performance of PDI's enterprise software solutions while working closely with product managers, product owners, engineering leaders, your team and other stakeholders.

Our team is at the forefront of AI-assisted software development at PDI. We actively use modern AI development systems such as Claude Code and build our own AI-powered tools, including agents and skills, to improve developer productivity, automate engineering workflows, and continuously optimize the software development process.

With the variety of environments, platforms, technologies
& languages, you must be comfortable working within databases, C# code, web
services and hybrid cloud environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Actively support and develop software solutions for PDI products
• Troubleshoot and resolve software issues with due urgency and maintain thorough documentation of all software solutions
• Perform engineering level tests to find defects; troubleshoot and debug production issues
• Use AI-assisted development tools and contribute to the development of AI agents, skills, and other tools that optimize engineering and software development processes
• Guides and trains less experienced engineers
• Partner with Product Management to consult on solution feasibility and high-level effort estimation
• Prepare and provide case status and risk assessments to their manager with appropriate levels of detail to ensure customer issues are properly escalated and prioritized
• Use a disciplined approach in an Agile environment to assist in analysis and determination of preferred solutions to technical challenges
• Work with Product Owner to clarify and estimate feature work

Qualifications:

• 5-9 years' experience designing and developing new or maintaining existing software applications in a software product development environment
• Proficiency required in all of the following: .Net and C#
• Proficiency required in SQL performance troubleshooting and tuning
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and the use of Azure DevOps
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools, such as Claude Code or similar systems
• 1+ year of experience serving as a technical team lead preferred
• 2+ years of practical experience with Agile development methodologies
• Highly motivated self-starter with a desire to help others and take action
• Requires strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical terms
• Ability to independently work as a contributing member in a high-paced and focused team
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Ability to socialize ideas and influence decisions without direct authority
• Collaborative in nature with a strong desire to dig in and learn independently and as well as through asking questions
• Considers 'best-practice' standards, as well as departmental policies and procedures
• Computer science fundamentals: OOP, design patterns, data structures & algorithms
