Job summary

Cyderes is seeking a Software Engineer III to own the cloud-native microservices behind our Security-as-a-Service platform. You will design, build, and operate scalable services with ownership across the stack, collaborating with product, security, and operations to translate customer needs into reliable software.

In this role you will deploy to AWS/GCP/Azure using Terraform, run Docker and Kubernetes workloads, and contribute to secure, well-tested code while mentoring teammates and keeping

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong skills in Go or Python.
• Experience building APIs and microservices.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and Terraform.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Working knowledge of observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic).
• Familiarity with core cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with spec-driven development or other agentic development tools.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Ship well-tested code and improve our automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Review code and designs, and mentor teammates through pairing and constructive feedback.
• Build with security in mind to protect applications from vulnerabilities.
• Use AI-assisted and spec-driven development tools to move faster without sacrificing quality.
• Keep documentation current for the systems you own.
• Join our on-call rotation for production incidents.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer III, you'll own the cloud-native microservices behind Cyderes' Security-as-a-Service platform, from design through production. You'll work on a small team where engineers have real ownership, raise the bar through code review and mentoring, and partner with product, security, and operations to turn customer needs into reliable, secure software.
