Job summary

SGS Consulting is seeking a software engineer to design and maintain Python-based graphical user interfaces for large motion collection systems. You will implement Python signal processing modules inside Apache Airflow and ensure data flow integrity across workflows.

The role requires collaborating with system operators to translate feedback into feature requests and maintaining comprehensive documentation for collection procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of software development experience.
• Strong Python experience required and Django/GUI related work.
• C++ and SQL skills with light database management.
• Familiarity with PyQt/PySide GUI libraries and NumPy.
• Experience with Linux and macOS and camera/lighting equipment.
• Excellent communication to gather user feedback.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Creating and maintaining Python-based graphical user interfaces for large motion collection systems.
• Implement custom Python signal processing modules inside of Apache Airflow.
• Implement data flow integrity in Apache Airflow.
• Take feedback from operators of the research collection systems and implement feature requests from the users.
• System Documentation: Ensure thorough documentation for collection procedures.

Skills:

• Required YOE: 5+ Years
• Python experience is required.
• Most tasks will be Python related.
• Some work in C++, and SQL for light database management.
• Experience with Python libraries: PyQt5 / PyQt6 / PySide2 NumPy Requests PyYaml / JSON PyZMQPassion for Graphical User Interface design.
• Experience with Linux and MacOS devices.
• Experience with cameras, lenses, lights, and microphones.
• Good communication skills to collect feedback on software design from users.
