Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS/DS/IS or related field with 3 years of experience, or a BA/BS with 5 years.
• Experience with front-end/back-end development using .NET Core, Node.js, React, Next.js, TypeScript, UI/UX principles, and OO programming.
• Experience with APIs, microservices, API Gateway, SAP Commerce Cloud, MuleSoft integration.
• Mobile development with Xamarin and/or MAUI, including App Store Connect and Google Play Console management.
• DevOps, CI/CD, source control, databases, SDLC, documentation and reusable frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of complex application changes across multiple systems.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform containment strategies, and conduct root cause analysis.
• Drive technical initiatives spanning multiple systems to meet business goals.
• Mentor Software Engineers I and II, conduct code reviews and share knowledge.

ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – the fund-raising organization of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – is currently looking for a Software Engineer III as follows.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Design and Development Analyze, design, and develop complex application changes and project milestones across multiple systems within the platform.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform containment strategies, and execute root cause analysis to ensure system stability and performance.
• Drive technical initiatives that span multiple systems, ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
• Mentorship and Team Development Serve as a mentor to Software Engineers I and II, providing guidance on technical and data analysis, problem-solving, and best practices. Conduct code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to strengthen team capabilities and promote continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Gathering Proactively engage with stakeholders through interviews and data-gathering activities to support application development and enhancements. Collaborate with business analysts and customers to resolve issues and plan for future system needs.
• Application Design and Development Analyze, design, and develop new application systems using advanced programming techniques and tools. Create and modify complex application programs, including testing, debugging, documentation, and ongoing maintenance. Ensure user experience considerations, including color-enhanced screen design and usability standards.
• Continuous Learning and Innovation Stay current with emerging technologies, development tools, and programming techniques. Participate in educational opportunities to maintain technical expertise and introduce innovative solutions.
• Collaboration and Leadership Act as a technical lead for projects, guiding team members through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Assist in planning and implementing system enhancements and modifications to meet evolving business needs.

Position Requirements

• Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field and three (3) years of technical, analytical, systems, and programming experience -- OR -- a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field followed by five (5) years of technical, analytical, systems, and programming experience.
• Experience must include three (3) years of experience with all of the following: (i) Application Development: Front-end and back-end development using .NET Core, Node.js, React, Next.js, TypeScript, UI/UX principles, and object-oriented programming. (ii) API, Integration & Architecture: Design and development of APIs and microservices, API Gateway, client/server architecture, schema development, integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft), and SAP Commerce Cloud. (iii) Mobile & Multi-Platform Development: Mobile application development using Xamarin and/or MAUI, including App Store Connect (iOS), Google Play Console (Android), and mobile certificate and profile management. (iv) DevOps, Data & Engineering Practices: SecDevOps, CI/CD pipelines, release management, source control (GitHub, Bitbucket, SVN), database technologies, SDLC, reusable frameworks, proof-of-concept development, and technical documentation.
